Are children invited?
While we absolutely adore your little ones, we have chosen to make our wedding an adults-only celebration. We respectfully ask that children 9 years of age and younger not attend our wedding festivities.
We completely understand that finding childcare ~ especially when traveling ~ can sometimes be challenging. If you would still like to celebrate with us but are unable to find a sitter, please don't hesitate to reach out. We will do our best to help connect you with a trusted local sitter so you can relax and enjoy our special day with us.
Thank you for understanding and helping us create the celebration we've envisioned. We can't wait to celebrate with you!
Can I wear jeans
We kindly ask that guests skip the denim for the day and join us in semi-formal attire. We would love for everyone to embrace the occasion and get a little dressed up with us!
Will the wedding be indoors or outdoors?
A little bit of both!
Our ceremony is planned to take place outdoors on the lawn in front of the Historic Red Barn, weather permitting. Other portions of the celebration will take place throughout the property, including our reception in the Hay Shed.
Since you'll have the opportunity to enjoy both indoor and outdoor spaces, we recommend dressing with the weather in mind.
What happens if it rains?
Rain or shine, we're getting married!
In the event Mother Nature decides to join the guest list with a little rain, our ceremony will be moved indoors to the first level of the Historic Red Barn. We have a backup plan in place, so all you need to do is come ready to celebrate!
What will the weather be like?
Our wedding will take place on June 5, 2027, and Illinois weather likes to keep us guessing!
Early June temperatures in our area can range anywhere from approximately 70°F to 85°F, so we recommend checking the forecast before you arrive and dressing accordingly.
A light layer for later in the evening may be a good idea, especially if temperatures cool down after sunset.
Can I post pictures on social media?
We would love to see the memories you capture throughout our celebration!
However, if you take photos of the bride and groom, we kindly ask that you refrain from posting those photos on social media until we have received our professional wedding photos from our photographer.
We are so excited to share those first special images ourselves and truly appreciate everyone allowing us that moment.
Photos of yourselves, friends, family, the venue, décor, and all the fun you're having are more than welcome!
Can I take pictures during the wedding?
We would love for you to capture memories throughout our wedding day! However, during the ceremony, we kindly ask that phones and cameras be put away.
We have wonderful photographers who will be capturing this incredibly special moment for us, and we want them to be able to photograph our ceremony without phones, tablets, or cameras in the aisle or background.
Once the ceremony is over, feel free to take as many pictures as you'd like!
What time should I arrive?
We recommend arriving approximately 20–30 minutes before the ceremony begins at 5:30pm. This will give you plenty of time to park, make your way to the ceremony lawn, find your seat, and settle in before we say "I do."
Please allow yourself a little extra travel time, especially if you are unfamiliar with the area.
Where should I park?
Guest parking will be located in the grassy parking area before you reach the Hay Shed, which will serve as our reception hall.
Please follow any posted signs or directions when you arrive.
What kind of shoes should I wear?
Since our ceremony will be held on the lawn and portions of the celebration involve outdoor areas, we recommend choosing shoes that are comfortable on grass and natural terrain.
Block heels, wedges, flats, dressy sandals, and other grass-friendly footwear are great options. If you have your heart set on stilettos, you may want to bring a second pair of shoes for exploring and dancing!
Can I bring a plus-one?
Due to space and planning considerations, we are only able to accommodate the guests specifically included on your invitation.
If a plus-one has been included with your invitation, this will be indicated when you RSVP. We appreciate your understanding and can't wait to celebrate with you!
Will alcohol be served?
Yes! Alcohol will be served during our celebration, although we will have a limited selection available.
If there is a particular drink or beverage you prefer that we may not be providing, you are welcome to bring your drink of choice to enjoy responsibly during the celebration.
Please plan ahead for a safe way home, as rideshare and taxi services are extremely limited in our area.
Is smoking allowed?
Smoking is permitted only in designated smoking areas throughout the property.
We kindly ask that guests use these designated areas and refrain from smoking or vaping in ceremony, dining, or other non-smoking spaces.
Are Uber, Lyft, or taxis available?
Please plan your transportation in advance, as Uber, Lyft, and traditional taxi services are generally not available in our area.
If you are flying in, we strongly recommend renting a vehicle from the airport.
If transportation is going to be an issue for you, please contact us ahead of time. We may be able to help coordinate arrangements depending on availability.
When is the RSVP deadline?
Please RSVP by April 5th using the RSVP section of our wedding website.
Even if you are unable to attend, we kindly ask that you submit your RSVP so we can finalize our guest count and arrangements.
If you have any issues with your RSVP, please reach out to us directly.
When does the reception end?
When we say it does! 😜
We're here to celebrate, dance, laugh, and make memories—and we're not putting a bedtime on a good time.
So, bring your dancing shoes and come ready to celebrate with us. The party ends when we decide we're done! 🎉
